Questions

We've got answers.

Everything you need to know about the new CFA structure, enrollment, and what to expect.

What's changed

Class cards are no longer offered at the CFA. We've moved to a monthly membership model — think of it like a gym membership for flamenco. You enroll in your class, set up autopay, and your training is locked in for the full year.

This change helps us create more consistent training for every student. We found that class cards often led to irregular attendance, which made it harder for students to progress and harder for teachers to plan. The new model benefits everyone.

We've reorganized our classes into three clear divisions based on age: Youth (ages 3–12), Teen (ages 13–17), and Adult (18+). Each division has multiple levels inside it based on experience.

Previously we had categories like "Training Program" and "Adult Experience" which could be confusing. The new structure makes it much clearer where your student belongs and how they can grow over time.

Yes — what we used to call "special topics" are now called Companion Classes. Same great offerings (ballet, castanets, conditioning, bata de cola), just a clearer name.

We renamed them because "special topics" sounded temporary or elective. Companion Classes are a real part of a student's training path — they complement your main flamenco class and help you grow in specific areas.

Flamenco takes time and consistency to develop. A year-long structure means students build real momentum — no disruptions between semesters, no re-enrolling every few months, no gaps in training.

Classes run August 10, 2026 through May 7, 2027. This mirrors the academic calendar most families are already on, so it's easy to plan around.

Enrollment

After you submit the registration form, Karla will reach out to discuss your child's experience and background. Based on that conversation she'll recommend the right class and level.

You won't need to self-place — our education team handles it. If after a few classes we feel a different level would be a better fit, we'll talk with you and make the adjustment.

You submit the registration form — that's your part. After that Karla takes over. She'll create your Mindbody account, place you in the right class, and set up your monthly autopay.

We do it this way to avoid errors like parents entering their own name instead of their child's, or students ending up in the wrong level. It keeps everything clean and accurate from the start.

Absolutely. Students can enroll in their main flamenco class plus any number of Companion Classes — ballet, castanets, conditioning, or bata de cola. Each companion class is added to the base membership.

Karla can help you figure out the right combination based on your child's goals, schedule, and experience level.

Pricing

Membership is priced based on your flamenco level and billed monthly. For most families who were attending consistently, the monthly cost is comparable to what they were spending on class cards.

The difference is that membership gives you guaranteed consistent training — no running out of classes, no remembering to renew, no gaps.

Life happens and we understand that. If you need to pause or stop your membership, please reach out to Karla directly and she'll walk you through your options.

We ask that you give us as much notice as possible so we can plan accordingly for our teachers and classes.

The registration fee is a one-time fee paid at enrollment — $25 for an individual student or $40 for an entire family. It covers the administrative cost of setting up your Mindbody account, placing you in the right class, and getting your autopay configured.

This fee is separate from your monthly membership and is only charged once per year at registration.
