Registration

How It Works

We handle the placement — you just show up ready to dance!

1

Find your placement

New students: start by selecting your age group — Youth, Teen, or Adult — and explore the classes available at your level. Returning students: watch for your placement email from our education team confirming your recommended level for 2026–2027.

2

Submit the registration form

Complete the CFA registration form to confirm your enrollment for the upcoming academic year. Returning students should submit if any contact or student information has changed — or simply to confirm you’re coming back.

3

Set up or log in to Mindbody

New students will create a Mindbody account — our team will guide you through setup or follow the instructions on the New Student page. Returning students can log in to their existing account. All class registration and monthly autopay runs through Mindbody.

4

Pay your registration fee & La Estrella fees

A nonrefundable $30 household registration fee is due at the time of enrollment and covers all family members for the academic year. If your student is participating in La Estrella, those fees are also collected at this time.

5

Register for classes in Mindbody

Register for your recommended placement classes. August tuition is due at this time. Monthly autopay begins September 15 and continues through the end of the academic year.

6

First class — August 10!

You’re in! Training runs August 10, 2026 through May 7, 2027. See you on the floor.

Questions

We've Got Answers

Everything you need to know about the new CFA structure, enrollment, and what to expect.

What's changed

Class cards are no longer offered at the CFA. We've moved to a monthly membership model. Think of it like a gym membership for flamenco. You enroll in your class, set up autopay, and your training is set up for the full CFA year.

We've reorganized our classes into three clear programs based on age: Youth (ages 3–12), Teen (ages 13–17), and Adult (18+). Each program has multiple levels inside of it based on experience.

Previously we had categories like "Adult Experience" which could be confusing. The new structure makes it much clearer where your student belongs and how they can grow over time.

Yes, what we used to call "special topics" are now called Companion Classes. Same great offerings (like ballet, castanets, conditioning, bata de cola, and more), just a clearer name.

We renamed them because "special topics" sounded temporary or elective. Companion Classes are a real part of a student's training path. They complement your main flamenco class and help you grow in specific areas.

Flamenco takes time and consistency to develop. A year-long structure means students build real momentum — no disruptions between semesters, no re-enrolling every few months, no gaps in training.

Classes run August 10, 2026 through May 7, 2027. This mirrors the academic calendar most families are already on, so it's easy to plan around.

Enrollment

After you submit the registration form, the Education Team will have a better understanding of the child's experience and background. Based on that information, we will recommend the right class and level.

If after a few classes we feel a different level would be a better fit, we'll talk with you and make the adjustment.

For new students, you'll submit the registration form. After that, the Education team will reach out to you via phone call or email to let you know the next steps. From there, you will be able to create your Mindbody account and register for classes.

For returning students, you may register on your own after you've received your placement email.

Absolutely! Students can enroll in their main flamenco class plus any number of Companion Classes. Each companion class is added to the base membership.

We can help you figure out the right combination based on your child's goals, schedule, and experience level.

Pricing & Payments

For most families who were attending consistently, the monthly cost is cheaper or comparable to what they were spending on class cards. Here's a real example:

Student A — Adult Flamenco Level 2 (twice/week, 17-week fall semester)

Under the old system Cost Classes Weeks
10-class pass × 3 $230 each 10 5 wks each
Singles for remaining 2 weeks $100 4 2 wks
Total (fall semester only) $790
Under the new system Monthly
August$150
September$150
October$150
November$150
December$150
Total (same period) $750

That's $40 less for the same period, and that's assuming Student A attended every single class under the old system. Last semester their attendance was around 52%, meaning they were effectively paying much more per class attended. With the monthly model, consistent students come out ahead.

Monthly tuition is the same whether you attend every class or miss a few. The more consistently you show up, the more value you get.

All Conservatory memberships are processed through automatic monthly payments. Monthly tuition is drafted on the 15th of each month using the payment method on file in Mindbody. Families are responsible for maintaining current and accurate billing information.

Yes! Families with multiple students enrolled at CFA receive a 10% discount on each additional family member's monthly tuition. The highest tuition membership is always charged at full price. Please call us at 505-242-7600 to apply this discount to your account!

A 5-day grace period is provided for tuition payments. Accounts with unpaid balances after the grace period may be subject to:

  • A $15 late fee
  • A temporary enrollment hold

Families are encouraged to communicate with the CFA office regarding payment concerns or unexpected financial circumstances. We're always happy to work with you.

The registration fee is a one-time fee paid at enrollment — $30 for an entire household, including individual enrollment. It covers the administrative costs associated with enrollment, placing you in the right class, and getting your autopay configured.

This fee is separate from your monthly membership and is only charged once per year at registration.

Yes. Drop-ins are welcome in the following classes; however, we always recommend a membership. You'll get more out of your training, build faster, and pay less per class the more consistently you show up!

Withdrawals, Refunds & Pauses

Life happens and we understand that! You are not locked into any year-long obligations. Withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing via email to the Education team at education@nifnm.org.

Written withdrawal notice must be received by the 25th of the month in order to discontinue tuition for the following month. Students who withdraw after the 25th may still be responsible for the following month's tuition.

Tuition payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. Missed classes are not eligible for refunds.

In cases of extended illness, injury, or emergency circumstances, families may contact the CFA office to discuss possible tuition credits, temporary pauses, or other accommodations. Please reach out to us at education@nifnm.org. We'll do our best to work with you!

Limited temporary enrollment pauses may be approved for medical, family, or emergency circumstances. Pause requests must be coordinated in writing through the CFA office and are subject to approval based on circumstances.

To request a pause, email us at education@nifnm.org.

Tuition Assistance

Yes. We believe financial barriers should never stand between a student and their flamenco education. CFA offers need-based tuition assistance to families who qualify, awarded on a funds-available basis each CFA year.

All applications are reviewed privately and on a case-by-case basis. Students 17 and under may apply. For those 18 and older needing financial assistance, please reach out to us at education@nifnm.org.

Applications are due Wednesday, August 5. We encourage families to apply early for best consideration. Assistance is awarded on a funds-available basis, so earlier applications have the best chance of receiving support.

Here's how the process works:

  • Complete and submit the tuition assistance application form.
  • Our team reviews all applications confidentially and on a funds-available basis.
  • You'll receive a decision via email no later than August 8.
  • If awarded, assistance is applied directly to your Mindbody account before classes begin.
  • The annual registration fee is still due at the time of enrollment.
